Nothing better than a Friday!

I have a lot going this weekend. My house is going back together really fast and I have tons to do. Mostly clean-up. Contractors are a little messy. The good news is my house is almost back to normal. For many of you who don't know, we had a grill fire on our patio 3 weeks ago. It did some damage! Let me tell you I've learned some valuable information from this. First of make sure your grill doesn't have a recall notice and make sure your propane tank is safe by checking the valve with warm soapy water. I will never own a gas grill again. I'm buying a Traeger grill. You plug it in!!! A little pricey but so much safer!

So anyway, I do have some DT work to finish up for my Acrylic Album and a couple of very small projects for Eye-Lets ETC.

So on to some fun things!! I'm playing in a golf tournament this weekend with my hubby. We always have a good time. It has 3 different formats and believe me I've seen couple really get mad at each other during this tournament. We just have fun! It's a scholarship tournament and my SD Darcy is a happy recipient of this scholarship...so all is good. That will be an all day thing on Sunday. I have to tell you that I haven't played for a while. So I could be divorced by Monday!! LOL

I'll leave you with a layout I just finished up. Every year I go and watch the Native American Indians dance. I love watching them...they are so talented and love their costumes. They come here from the northern part of Wyoming for Frontier Days. They stay in Teepees and perform for 10 days. This is a layout of young hoop dancer. As the story goes most hoop dancers are men. This girl has proven that females can also hoop dance. She carries on the tradition of her brother who lost his life about 3 years ago. He was 15 years old and a 3 time world champion hoop dancer. So you see it means more to her than being a female dancer. It carries on her brother's tradition. I was fortunate enough to see him perform several times and took many pictures of him. I find them so inspiring!!
My journaling is on the back of this layout because the story of them is so inspiring to me and I found myself writing alot. I find their culture so interesting. She is from Ethete Wyoming and I have to look up her tribe because I can't remember how to spell it off the top of my head.

Anyway I could go on forever about these dancers. In the weeks to come I have several layouts almost complete about the dancers and the different dances they perform.

Hope you have a great weekend!! happy scrappin!
